Let's see...I wanted to draw mermaid-thing-creatures, so I did. Used the pen for the tails, everything else is freehand. I luff my pad, even if the cord is finicky x.x Experiments with filters...the background is boring, but I didn't know what else to do with it. Not exactly happy with the linework, but eh. I think I did an okay job, yes? No? ;_;

I like the way the tails were given their texture. In addition, the texture that you used to fill in the rocks is nice.
One thing that I think could help a bit is by taking the rocks in the distance and putting a bit of a gaussian blur on them to add a bit of a "camera" feel to the image. Also, if you can get your tablet to work long enough to do this, try using the dodge and burn tools to quickly lay in the highlights and shadows for extra texture on the rocks (although keep that blue tone on the sides of the rock since that colored light looks good, just needs a bit more detail—you're heading in the right direction with the rock in the rear center as the light looks like it's just creeping around the edges) and thus make the middle areas look less flat.
