...Uh, yeah, instead of jobhunting like a good girl, I colored this. As a pencil sketch, she had snake hair, but it looked tacky so I redid it to look like normal hair and I'm very grateful...
Lots of thanks to give out:
thanks to this tutorial: [link]
I used these stock to help me with the hair: [link]
And...I used a picture called "slave girl" to help with the breasts and torso, but the link isn't working o.o it was : [link]
And finally, I used these two to help me with the hands and arms: [link] and [link]
*whew*
So yeah, my cruelly honest artist friend kept telling me to use references when I draw and color, so finally I did x.x
The tail I'm simulatenously happy and distressed with...I made my own brush with a picture of a rattlesnake I found online, then I used the paint dab filter and did some other stuff...it's kind of pretty, but I dunno. Anyhow. Tired. Bed now!~~ Please critique, even if it's mean! 'Cause, you know, I need to hear that stuff if I want to get better <<
Aww.
Another medium I usually don't see.
I really like her tail. And the way it goes from her waist. Hands, too, with the nails and fur (hair) on them. Hair are beautiful, and yes, I do reckon them.
Only critique from me (as if I knew anything from drawing) would be that compared to the rest, the green part on ears look... sketchy.
Very nice, this turned out gorgeous as a full-sized view! The depth of the color on the tail and the brush you made are really nice.
Her head is a little larger than it ought to be, just a smidge. Her eyes are beautiful Maybe a little more shading on the hair, darkening the areas under where the brighter more visible strands are, under the ear, and under the jaw areas.
For naga bodies, maybe study up more on snake anatomy. They're all muscle, but very, very smooth. Their tails are often either straight out, or nested in a kind of wadded up ball under them, rarely loose or waving around - though you said you used a little rattler, which they're a kind of different story for tails
Her left breast (mostly covered) maybe the curve line is a little high toward the center of her chest. With the angle that we're seeing we wouldn't get so much 'cleavage' look, but the bottom of it still would look rounded. The curve is right, just that the extent of the line probably didn't need to go that far.
My one overall crit however, is that I personally don't like 'lazy inking'. Going straight from a pencil into photoshop is really, really old. While the smaller sized view (the 'click' not the 'download' looks okay, the full size picture showed me a lot of little pencil strokes, some of which were still pixelated with greytone (or just with slight gaps where the 'conversion' took place). I would far prefer to see a single, smoothly *inked* line for the snake body, etc. Since I've been involved with art for a very, very long time, and comics in particular, I've seen a lot of art that's 'almost' perfect. If there was actual hand inking involved, or at least a serious consideration of smoothing the lines to make it LOOK hand-inked, I think this picture would turn out more perfect than it already is.
That's not to say it's not gorgeous - I'm saying, personally, that I'd love it much more if it were actually inked, and not 'cheater' inked with darkening in photoshop. Inking seems like it's a lost art these days, and precious few people *should* go straight from pencil to color - yet about 99 percent of the people here using photoshop *do just that* and yes, it kind of irks me.
uhm, actually, I went over everything again...I deleted the original pencil sketch entirely o.- I wanted it to be rough, that's why I didn't use the pen tool to make the lines. so, it's not cheated, I'm sorry you feel that way x.x
Anyway, too tired to fix it now x.x
I wish I could draw hands like that!
